As we grow older we find ourselves wondering what our purpose is in life.
What were we put here to do?
We spend years, sometime our whole lifetime trying to figure this out.
There is however a secret concept call Ikigai, and it is a Japanese term that roughly translates to “reason for being.”
When I first heard about this concept I was immediately intrigued and set about learning everything I could about this framework and how it applies to our lives.
What is Ikigai?
Ikigai originated on The Japanese island of Okinawa.
“Your ikigai is at the intersection of what you are good at and what you love doing,”
Discovering your own ikigai is said to bring fulfilment, happiness and make you live longer.
One of the many mistakes I’ve made in my life was believing that money led to fulfillment. That’s largely why I went into the corporate world in the first place.
